Sangla Valley is located in the Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh, situated at a height of 8,900 Ft and is located in the Baspa Valley. In Tibetan, the term Sangala means “pass of light” which refers to the valley receiving sunlight during the day. Sangla is located at a distance of 214 KM from  Shimla and it is 8 to 12 hours by road to reach Sangla. 

Sangla Valley or otherwise also known as Baspa Valley which houses a major village by the name Sangla. Sangla Valley lies perched on slopes near the carries banks of Baspa River. Baspa Valley popularly known as Sangla and Chitkul.  Sangla witnesses the beauty of exceptional snowfall and heart-warming scenery of snow-capped mountains!

There are lots of apple trees in entire Sangla Valley and among the crops grown are millet, potatoes, buckwheat etc. The pine nuts (chilgoza) of this area are quite famous for their high nutritive value.
